Profile Vanishing Point was a Dewsbury-based rock group formed in 1984, are contrary to their name, making themselves clearly visible on the local pub circuit. Started as a four-piece band they have been together for just a few months but they had already attraching big audiences. The album “From Jump Street” released in 1990 by RCA containing 10 songs of nice and well played AOR with memorable hooklines. Highlight here is without a doubt the opening track “Does It Have To Be Like This” that comes with a good mix of dominating guitars and full blown keyboards… The refrain has some nice backing vocals and reminds me of the great Strangeways. But it’s not the only worthy song: the following “Better Than That” and “Don’t Close Your eyes” are two more tasty AOR songs, while “Josephine” is a nice, heartfelt ballad and “On A Night Like This” offers again some cool guitars and a catchy hookline. This is a good and worth having AOR album– not easy to find, but really worth to be checked out, as the musicianship is excellent, the songs melodix, the production crystal clear and the sound pure AOR.
