Prizzi’s – Coming In [1987]

For all you collectors of obscure and hard to find 80’s Hi-Tech AOR here’s a totally unknown Swiss three piece with their one and only album from 1987. Well produced by Bernie Staub (Irrwisch) and equipped with those typical mid 80’s Hi-Tech AOR arrangements, you can expect a dozen tracks that fans of bands like Channel 5, Froon, The Innocent or Dune will eat up.

Driven by a layers of sharp synths and some cool guitars riffs the ultra catchy uptempo AOR opener “Go Romeo” could easily be on a Channel 5 album. The title track “Coming In” is a cool and memorable midtempo tune along the lines of Mad Romeo or Trio Rio. “Strange Girl” is another gem. This cool AOR track has a rather restraint verse which builds into an ultra catchy hookline (backed by cool female backing vocals) and features some classy guitar fills and solos. Reminds of Pandance or again Channel 5. Froon or Mad Romeo come to my mind when listening to the quirky “Fool For You”. With layers of synths and keys and more cool guitar fills this is followed by the the ultra catchy “Still A Dream”.

With precise dut-dut keys and a hookline to die for this is just brilliant Hi-Tech AOR along the lines of The Innocent or Dune. The same can be said for the following “London Town” which is pure ear candy and was their “hit” single back in the day. I could go on and on but let’s just agree that this essential for your Hi-Tech AOR collection if you like the above mentioned bands.
