Pink Cream 69 – Ceremonial [2013]

Pink Cream 69 return with their eleventh album titled Ceremonial and it’s a good quality melodic rock album that has all the trademark elements we’ve come to expect from this band. Pink Cream 69 are renowned for making hard rock that focuses on strong melodic vocal hooks courtesy of powerful lead singer David Readman and it’s all backed up by well performed and produced hard rock grooves.

Production was handled by bass player Dennis Ward and as usual he has made the album sound polished and layered with just enough style to make it sound exciting. Highlights include the rocking opener “Land Of Confusion”, the moody verses that lead into the hooky chorus of “Special”, the epic chorus of power ballad “The Tide”, the classic PC69 heavy grooving sound of “Big Machine”, the very catchy and melodic chorus of “Right From Wrong”, and the killer melodies of “King For One Day”.

Despite the fact that Ceremonial doesn’t really offer anything groundbreaking for this style of music it is certainly a fan pleasing album from one of the best bands in the melodic rock genre. If you’re new to this band then personally I believe the classic PC69 album will always be Thunderdome where everything came together perfectly for these guys.
