Little Big – Bridge to the Fridge [1994]

Little Big’s debut album is one of the best hidden secrets of German melodic rock music scene. They hailed from Munich and they released their only album in the early 90’s, influenced by the great 80’s, it contains pure AOR with big, fluffy keyboards, brilliant guitar work and super catchy hooklines.

“Close To pain” kicks things off and opens the album with a great mix of pumping AOR keyboards and sharp edged guitar fills and a hell of a big chorus that reminds a lot of Lake, while “Memorie Of Love” coms along with another impressive hookline and totally sounds like a mix between Jojo and Fahrenheit. “Look At This Man” is a wonderful ballad with a great melody and “Vile Day” is another great rocker with big guitar riffs and the super catchy “That’s Alright” features some moments that remind of Channel 5.

The musicianship here is awesome and the guys really know how to handle their instruments. The arrangements are pure 80’s AOR and the production sounds even better than some releases of big recoard labels. This is a damn rare and almost impossible to find prIvate release by the band. It’s full of quality AOR and therefor it’s a must have for the top collectors out there. In 1997 the band under the name Hallwax released the album “Froh Und Munter” add prog and alternative elements.
