Brother Firetribe – Diamond In The Firepit [2014]

Brother Firetribe are a great melodic rock band from Finland and Diamond In The Firepit is their third album showcasing their stellar musicianship and the powerful vocals of Pekka Heino from Leverage. It has been 6 years since these guys released an album but they have returned very strong with this self produced album full of pounding hard rockers and a couple of brilliant ballads.

As we have come to expect from Brother Firetribe, the sound is crisp and the mix is good with a nice separation of instruments throughout. The strength of this band is the way they balance party rock and insane guitar solos with strong melodies and big chorus hooks. A good use of keyboards also gives the music that extra coating of magic that brings these rocking songs to life. Highlights include the hard rocking first single “For Better Or For Worse”, the nostalgic eighties sound of “Trial Of Tears” that moves from a punchy pre chorus into a memorable chorus hook, and their version of “Tired Of Dreaming” that was initially given to The Magnificent for their killer debut album a few years ago.

Diamond In The Firepit is another strong addition to this band’s discography and is highly recommended to fans of quality European melodic rock in the vein of Leverage, Eclipse, H.E.A.T, and Circus Maximus.
