Profile Formed by Dicky Tarrach, and mostly originating as ex-members of the pop group The Rattles, they started as the rock ‘n’ soul band Randy Pie & Family. Many of the musicians in Randy Pie were also involved in the experimental rock albums of Achim Reichel. Bassist Manfred Thiers had come from the hard-rock progressive band Gash. The band acted between 1972 till 1977 releasing 5 albums.
In 1986 they decided to re-united to recorded their sixth album titled “Magic Ferry” through WEA Records, approximately with the original line-up while Kravetz was replaced by Hamburg keyboardist Claus-Robert Kruse. The band’s style change from funk rock to a more oriented melodic rock/pop sound but unsuccessful among the fans. Too bad as the album has some really good and harmony tunes, nice melodious backing vocals and strong songwriting.
