Tipsy Road

Country Switzerland

Style Hard Rock/Progressive Rock

Profile Hard Rock/Progressive Rock band formed at the beginning of 2007 by Davide De Vita (Vocals), Simone Geronimi (Bass), Andrea Agazzi (Drums) and Mauro Salazar (Keyboards). The first concert already sees a change in the line: Niklas Knott (Guitar) joins the band and, because of personal reasons, Andrea decides to leave the band ad Elia Heutschi substitutes him at the drums. After this first concert the band starts working on original songs until at the beginning of 2008 Niklas decides to leave and the guitar player Mattia Mantello joins the band and because of these continuous changes and instabilities, the band is named Tipsy Road.

During 2008 the number of live concerts increases, however at the end of the summer Mattia decides to leave and join the blues band The Flag, forming a friendly bond between the two bands, which will hold up till these days. After some auditions the band decides to let in Lorenzo Mena, who proves to be a good choice. In fact at the end of summer 2009, the band records its first EP “Breakin’ The Line”, published at the beginning of 2010, which allows it to be selected at the “Palco ai Giovani Winter Sessions” (the most famous band contest in Ticino) and play in Lugano as finalist in front of thousands of people.

In summer Tipsy Road also participates to a national contest offered by Heineken and wins the possibility to perform on the Heineken Stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival. At the beginning of 2011 it is decided to carry on with a new guitar player: Christian Zatta joins the band and the sound of the band improves, becoming more modern and cohesive and also more appreciated by the fans and the band itself. Guided by the strong willing to carry on with an original rock sound, Tipsy Road starts writing new songs and adding different covers to the repertoire, in order to prepare for a long series of concerts. In the same summer the band plays again as finalist at “Palco ai Giovani” and win their first italian competition: “La Boggia band contest”.

In winter 2012 the first videoclip is realized: a radio edition of “Naked”, with which Tipsy Road wins the best direction award at the national italian contest “Videoclip d’oro – Italian video Awards” in Rome. After being selected for the third time as finalist of “Palco ai Giovani”, the band finally wins the first prize of the contest and is selected to perform at “Aspettando Estival” in Lugano. Summer 2012 is an important period for Tipsy Road, which starts to work to a new album: in september the band enters the “Stairway Studio” in Melano of their good friend Stefano Scenini. During the mix the band performs as support for the american band London at the RockCity near Zurich.

At the end of december the mix is completed and the album is mastered at the “Bionic Mastering Studios” (VT, USA). Very proud of the work, Tipsy Road presents “Somewhere Alive” with a Release Party on January 19. at the Foce Concert Hall in Lugano. Tipsy Road is a well known Rock band in Ticino and has also performed in Italy and in the North of Switzerland.
