Profile These guys have been around since the mid 90’s and had quite a bit of success in their home country. Withe the release of “The Flame Still Burns” they mostly left the Westcoast elements behind and went for a pure AOR / Melodic Rock ranging between 7th Heaven, Southern Sons and Sunstorm. Tne new vocalist of the band Andries Botha with his awesome raspy vocals give the 12 songs of the album more of a rock edge compared to their earlier efforts. The raging opener “Breathe” reminds of Southern Sons, “Show Me The Way” with killer hookline and overall similar to 7th Heaven or the modern Melodic Rocker “Blame It On The Universe” where Sunstorm meets Martin Stenmarck.

The breezy acoustic driven power ballad “I Want You Back” having killer vocal delivery and hookline, that totally reminds Mikael Erlandsson. The same can be said about “Scenes From A Memory”, another mega catchy tune which will spin in your head for days. Yet another killer tune has to be the midtempo AOR of “Angel” (Joe Lynn Turner like, listen to the bridge) which has hit written all over hit. Also production wise this has an updated modern AOR touch which is totally on par with what is currently reviewed in the Melodic Rock / AOR world.
