Profile Formed by the young Joey Tempest and John Norum in 1978, they recruited John Levin and Tony Reno and got as far as releasing a demo tape, Force then changed their name to Europe, after Joey Tempest’s girlfriend entered the band into the Swedish rock championships… and the rest in history! They went to Rock Sm competition in 1982, which they went on to win, and garner a record deal. The recording here is rather bass heavy as you’d expect. There’s some rather heavy numbers exhibiting the young John Norum’s skill and the whole collection of demos i’m sure contributed to the style of Europe’s self titled debut.
