For almost exactly 30 years, the band name NUMBER NINE is a term for several generations of fans of good, handmade rock music in southern Germany. That both generally in the field of coverrock music, as well as in the late 80s / early 90s with own songs & albums at many concerts in the opening act of big acts.

The origin of the band lies in the Franconian music scene, from which NUMBER NINE formed in 1987 via band founder Jürgen Kühnlein. NUMBER NINE caused a sensation at every performance from the very beginning due to the completely new concept of song selection and visual presentation, not least because of frontman Martin Riegel, whose charismatic demeanor, special frontman show and rocking voice everyone (Tanz -) Shed always turned into a rock palace.

Especially in the early years, the troupe earned itself the reputation of being the most sought-after band in the scene due to its eye-catching sound, the entire stage show and the authentic live presentation. The subsequent changes in the band were able to live up to this reputation. But even with their own songs, Number Nine has made a name for itself since its inception … and appeared at concerts in the opening act of Europe, Doro, Ian Gillan, Status Quo, Roger Taylor (Queen), PUR u.v.a. With the song “Hello Mrs. Wunderbar” Number Nine was in 2001 next to “Right said Fred” and others on the ZDF television garden. Over the years there have been albums / maxi’s that were played live in the respective ensembles.
