Aftermath is a New Jersey based heavy rock band which was founded by lead vocalist Joey Dia and keyboard player Andy Kadin in the spring of 1995. Drummer Marc Chandler, who was working in a music store next to their rehearsal room, was the first to join them, followed by guitarist Bill DiNapoli. Influenced by bands like Bon Jovi, Kiss and Poison they started to write and rehearse material of their own and soon performed in a local club for the first time. A lot of hard work followed before this debut album was released yesterday (May 12, 2003), but the result is a wonderful album, that deserves your full attention.

“Natural Destruction” contains 11 heavy rock songs, all combining powerful vocals and heavenly harmonies with extraordinary guitar work and painstakingly selected keyboard parts. Listen to the opening track and hear how effectively subtle keyboards can be! Quite impressive throughout are the vocals of Dia as well as the in-yer-face guitars of DiNapoli. Any random chosen track will prove that, believe me! The tracks that made the deepest impression on me are “Lovin’ You” and “Behind These Eyes” (which both start softly, but then develop in blistering singalong tracks), and “Better Days”, which combines all the qualities of this talented band into one song. Music is supposed to be fun and these guys are surely aware of that.
