Profile To the Power of Three is the only album by progressive rock group 3, released in 1988. Formed by Keith Emerson on keyboards and Carl Palmer on drums of ELP fame and musician Robert Berry on guitar, bass and vocals. The band plays their own version of The Byrds’s song “Eight Miles High”, with revamped lyrics.
The album peaked at #97 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and featured the single “Talkin’ ’bout”, which peaked at #9 on theMainstream Rock Tracks chart. The song’s music video received moderate airplay on MTV.
The song “Desde la Vida” has appeared on Keith Emerson anthologies and on the ELP box set From the Beginning in 2007. The only tour done by that band included songs from their album, as well as instrumentals of ELP, no actual ELP songs were done live, Berry’s vocals being too different from Lake’s, so things like Fanfare and Hoedown as well as The Nice’s Rondo and America were played.
