Profile Synth rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The band was discovered after their manager sent a demo tape to a studio in Los Angeles, completely unbeknownst to the band members. After performing on the New England progressive rock scene throughout the late 70s and 80s, Linda Chase and Dave Currier’s band 3-Speed was signed to MCA records in 1985. 3-Speed cowrote, arranged, produced and performed 8 songs in major motion pictures, including the title song for Jim Carrey’s first movie in which he had the leading role, “Once Bitten” for Samuel Goldwyn Jr.

In addition to “Once Bitten,” another song by the band called “Stop Talking About Us” was used by MCA/Curb Records on the aforementioned soundtrack. This song was not written for the movie, but was actually a demo that the band had previously recorded. The version that appears on the soundtrack album is the demo. 3 Speed enjoyed considerable success after the release of the Once Bitten soundtrack; at one point they were even opening for Pat Benatar. MCA Records, however, never petitioned the band to record a full-length LP, commissioning them instead to write songs for more soundtracks, including those for Rad and Savage Streets.

Linda and Dave have concentrated on studio production and arranging for the past several years, composing radio and TV musical images (jingles) for markets in 46 states. They are the recipients of a Freddy award for scoring of an educational film, and write, arrange and produce for many aspiring artists.
