Profile `Worlds Apart’ is an American melodic hard rock/glam metal band, originally founded in the early 90s. Sound wise the `Dokken’ influences are rather evident yet, to be fair, their style is not restricted by this tag as one finds extensive guitar solos, loads of twin guitar harmonics and a good amount of heavy (for this genre) riffs.

The band consists of lead singer Jay Davids, the inventive lead guitarist Rich Cedillo, bass player JAS, and drummer Gary Silva; and this is a very competent line up, guaranteed to deliver the late 80s hard/glam sound.

When buying the album, I was fairly concerned about the dating of the recordings on this release. Fortunately `Clean Slate’ is newly recorded (2009) up to date with current production standards and, in fact, it goes beyond that: The recordings of all instruments are crystal clear, thick, and perfectly sustained yet the surprise comes in the mixing, handled by the amazing hard rocker Johnny Lima who gives the album the traditional late 80s mixing. Subsequently what we get are fresh recordings arranged according to the 80’s style.

Far more important however is the fact that `Worlds Apart’ offer a good amount of killer songs namely `Heaven sent’, `two 4 nothin’, the heavy hitter `We can’t go on’ and the mega infectious `Body double’. If you are a fan of 80s hard rock/glam metal you will probably enjoy `Clean Slate’ to the maximum.
