Profile Tommy James  is an American pop-rock musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer, widely known as leader of the 1960s rock band Tommy James and the Shondells. Tommy James is a legend. He has had so many hits over the years including Crimson & Clover, I Think were Alone Now, Crystal Blue Persuasion and Mony Mony. This is his last studio CD and it’s truly a hard to find CD as it was in limited release.

If David Cassidy and The Beach Boys could make combacks in the late 80s, so could Tommy James, right? After all, two of his hits with The Shondells (covered and taken to #1 by Billy Idol and Tiffany) had set the stage perfectly for the ultimate comeback. Well, it didn’t quite work, but he did leave us a pretty good textbook AOR release called Hi-Fi in 1990. This CD is full of high-tech AOR magic with “Go” leading the way with a buoyant Starship-esque exuberance. Fans of Richard Marx will love “Go”, “You Take My Breath Away” and the scintillating keys on “Backtrack”. Highly recommended!
