Profile The Maltese born Anthony J. Mifsud began his entertainment career in Toronto as the front man and vocalist for the internationally renowned and award-winning Canadian hard rock/heavy metal musical group and recording artists Slash Puppet. As an integral member of the popular rock band, the dynamic singer, songwriter and actor, who would ultimately become known professionally as Mif, was able to hone his skills and confidence as a performer, enabling him to become an accomplished and legitimate force on the Canadian music scene. In early 1995 after another successful Canadian tour and after much deliberation, Mif announces that he is leaving Slash Puppet to pursue other interests.

Sensing a musical climate change, he forms the band Total Harmonic Distortion and in 1996 releases the self-titled THD. Mif hooking up with the finest musicians on the Toronto scene at the time with Toronto metal warriors Michel Scotta on guitars (Hardway, Eiffel Power), Lionel Tissot on bass (Hardway, Eiffel Power) and drummer Brent ‘Ned’ Niemi (Helix, Straitjacket). A collection of darker, heavier and more progressive metal songs the cd is well received and garners the attention of manager Michael White (The Tea Party). A deliberate departure from his musical stylings with the Puppets in an attempt to offset the grunge invasion, Mif once again begins creating a buzz for himself with this new outfit.
