Profile In the early to mid 2000’s Melbourne’s thriving music scene was shaken up by a band that shunned traditional three-chord pub rock in favour of soaring melodies, blistering guitar heroics and anthemic choruses. Teargas and its dedicated followers left lasting impressions on The Espy, The Corner, The Hi-Fi Bar and various other venues around town. They opened for Nikki Sixx’s (Motley Crue) Brides Of Destruction, and US melodic rock legend, Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman) on their memorable Australian tours, to a roaring reception.

In a time when few young Aussie bands were drawing from 80’s influences such as Van Halen, Dokken, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake, the boys, all aged in their early 20’s, set themselves apart doing justice to their heroes while carving a unique edge that drew audiences hungry for bombast. The impact was so, that since the classic line-up of the band effectively ended in 2006, numerous calls have been made for a reunion and return to Teargas’ celebrated melodic rock material from the “Crazy era.”
