Profile Strike Twice was created in 1988 by vocalist Michael Hayes and guitarist Rob Luv, two guys with a love in their hearts and souls for hot-blooded hard rock. Fate smiled kindly on them during the 80’s metal revolution as they packed out clubs everywhere they went. Their tight, sleaze-fueled sound and debauchery-drenched stage show struck a chord with fans everywhere. Their music was powerful and precise, their songs designed to deliver hook-heavy entertainment.

Strike Twice played their music displaying a killer knack for crafting punchy, high-energy hard rock songs that drip with streetwise swagger and bad boy shock factor. The band plays late 80s style Hair Metal like we all love – huge choruses, amazing guitar solos, and killer vocals.  Fans of retty Boy Floyd, Black ‘N Blue and Poison would love this disc.  The song, “One Night With You” could have been found on any Poison album. They possess that indefinable hard rock magic that is still as relevant today as it was in the late 80’s and early 90s!

  1. Strike Twice Bio says:

Strike Twice was a NY based Glam-hard rock band that formed in late 1986. The 1st lineup of Strike Twice included, Mike Hayes (singer-guitar), Gene Rogers (bass), Rob Luv (guitar) and Frank Guilchist (Drums). This lineup stayed intact until the summer of 1987, when the band recruited Pete Blast to play drums. The band recorded their 1st demo entitled “Once is never enough” that summer. This demos included the songs “Toys”, On the Prowl, Talk, Talk to name a few. The band played countless shows duriing 1987 and 1988. The band re-entered the studio in the summer of 1988 to record another demo including a few songs . Titles included, Tuff Luck and “Never let go” and RU Ready. Both of these demos were produced by Steve Amend. By late 1988, Gene Rogers and Pete Blast had left the band. During 1989 and early 1990, Strike Twice continued to play shows with a lineup that included, Kenny Korade on Bass, and a few other drummers. During that time, no new demos were produced. In 1990, Strike Twice recruited a new bass player (Chaz), Drummer (Randi Price) and a 2nd guitar player (Trixx). This lineup proved to be very sucessful in the local tri-state area between 1990-1993. The band recorded numerous demos during these years. Songs included, DFWM, Dirty Lover, Intoxication, Wake up crying to name a few. By most accounts, the band broke up in 1993. In 2007, Original members, Mike Hayes, Rob Luv and Gene Rogers along with former members, Trixx and Randi started rehearsing again in the hopes of playing a big time Reunion show. In May of 2008 this lineup played a packed show at the Crazy Donkey on Long island,NY.
The band ended up signing a record contract with Eonian Records in 2009, Unfortunately, the self-titled record pretty much ignored the early years of the band, 1986-1989..
