Get ready for some ass-kicking sleaze from Sweden………CONFESS is the new “member” of Sweden’s sleaze metal scene and they raw, powerful and know how to bring the goods. Their debut album contain twelve (plus 1 bonus) jaw dropping and pounding tunes to get mom pissed off as you blast it to high levels!

“Jail” is extremely solid from beginning to end where every song has killer chords and hooks which make them standout. There is absolutely no filler material on this disc. While some songs are obviously better than others, there is not what I would consider a weak track to be found. Some are based on a very hard-rockin’, infectious guitar hook. Others revolve around a big sing-along chorus. The rest fall somewhere in between with a combination of the two. I think it is a safe bet that you’ll find yourself singing “Scream” or “Bloodstained Highway” long after the disc has stopped.

The album starts with an instrumental intro but when the powerful “Relationshit” enters your eardrums are explode by this mega rockin’ chant anthem that really sets the pace for the rest of the album, Next song is “Scream”. This one will amp you up and send you running screaming. One of the best tunes of the record that easily can be a part of any collection and gain airplay from all the radio stations.  A straightforward sleaze rock track with hot riffage and attitude, gritty guitars and a very catchy chorus that will stuck in your head for a long time. “Pay Before I Go” is another song that shows just how good this band is, with another powerful chorus backed by harmony vocals and an awesome soloing.  They are not afraid to ballads as well, being “Take Aim” a modern oriented one, that type of songs that could give them their best shot at stardom with impressive layered vocals.

Confess comes right back with “Bloodstained Highway”, which is a hard rocking tune that will once again make you stand tall. Catchy as hell, it has all the fire and effervescence of the previous songs. Just listen those punctuating guitars with this powerful and simultaneously memorable chorus that will lift your ass off the couch in no time. The killer, commercial “Setting Sails” reminds me in parts the early works of Lillian Axe, bring back the 80s aspect of glam with keeping that fresh sound. As before, catchy choruses remain the ace in “Confess”s deck with “Back to Hell”, “Got Lucky”, “Cardiac Arrest” and “Get me Down” all filled with screaming guitar riffs, massive hooks, mega-choruses, gigantic backing vocals and stacked harmonies while “Intervention” although is an eight minute length rock anthem filled with many harmonies , never get boring. The big surprise coming with the bonus track a cover of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With it”, that you will really love it especially in guitar parts.

These are songs you just need to crack open a beer, turn up the volume and just enjoy the ride. This music isn’t meant to change your life or even change your mood, it’s just meant to enjoy it for what is it…….fun party rock that just wants to chill out with you. If you’re a fan of the Hollywood hair metal scene, the new wave of Swedish sleaze rock, or just loud, nasty rock n’ roll in general, you definitely want to track down a copy of “Jail”….
