Profile “Love Catastrophe” is the second, brand new album by Greek-American melodic hard rock band “Outloud”. A follow up to their highly acclaimed 2009 debut, “Love Catastrophe” was originally planned for release during the fall of 2010, yet a change of record label postponed this release a few months. Issues by “AOR Heaven”, “Love Catastrophe” sees the established line up of lead singer Chandler Mogel, guitarist/keyboardist Bob Katsionis, guitarist Tony Kash and drummer Mark Cross joined by bassist Sverd Soth.

The approach on this second album is another step in the melodic hard rock path; generally speaking, the songs on “Love Catastrophe” fall in two broad categories: The direct, up tempo, heavy rockers namely the opener “We came to rock” and “Isolation game” and the more melodic, AOR-ish “Falling Rain”, “Live again” and “The Night that never ends” never forgetting the video-single “Waiting for your love”. It has to be addressed that it is the more melodic material that brings to front the musical personality of “Outloud” where Chandler can clearly uncover his ability as a lead singer. In addition “Love Catastrophy” is even more a guitar-oriented album than its predecessor as keyboard presence has been reduced substantially (excluding the keyboard driven “Night that never ends”) throughout the album. Needless to say, the majority of melodies are performed by the guitars and vocals and, in that respect; the team has delivered rather infectious harmonies which engage the listener early in the song.

Overall “Love Catastrophe” is an album that does justice to any melodic hard rock enthusiast that supported “Outloud”s debut. It has all the elements a fan would expect to hear from the band only bigger and better. Fans of the band can not fail to enjoy this second studio effort.
