PROFILE

“Inside Out” is the debut album by German melodic hard rock/AOR album “Jaded Heart” originally released in 1994. “Jaded Heart” was put together by German AOR icon Michael Bormann (the former singer of the “J.R. Blackmore Group”) guitarist Dirk Bomann, “Mad Max” drummer Axel Kruse and bassist Michael Muller.

“Jaded Heart” were substantially differentiated from the majority of the German hard rock/metal scene of the mid-90s bringing to front a totally `80s melodic rock sound built on melodic guitar lines, keyboard harmonies, AOR rhythm section and love-oriented themes. “Inside out” for its biggest part is not a particularly up-tempo melodic rock album creating a somewhat mystical/romantic atmosphere which one continues to find inspiring almost twenty years past its release.

One has to point out that “Inside out” is a particularly guitar driven album featuring ever-present guitar riffs, shredding solos as well as acoustic melodies and preludes/interludes. So clearly the “Jaded Heart” debut leans towards the heavier side of AOR bringing to front such classics as “Inside Out”, “How many Tears”, “Burning for love”, the Jovi-like “Hold On” and the power ballad “Excuse” are classics in post-`80s melodic rock. There is no going wrong with the “Jaded Heart” debut for any fan of the genre.
