Profile Gary Robert Rossington  is an American musician, best known as a founding member of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He plays lead and rhythm guitar. He is also a founding member of The Rossington-Collins Band along with former Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmate, Allen Collins. Rossington is the only original member still with the band as of 2012.

The band formed by Gary Rossington, of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame, and his wife Dale Krantz-Rossington after the breakup of The Rossington-Collins Band releasing two albums. “Returned To The Scene Of The Crime” is the first album released in 1986 on Atlantic Record  with absolutely no hint of the Southern rock (and soul) of even The Rossington-Collins Band, let alone the mighty Skynyrd. Dale Krantz’ voice is (still sublime), but the tunes are lifeless, shallow approximations of mid 80’s “rock”. It worked for Starship, but it sure as hell ain’t working for Gary Rossington and crew here.

Still, for historical purposes this may be worth checking out. And if you’re a fan of AOR music in general, you may well enjoy this album lots.
