Profile Michael Andrew “Duff” McKagan is an American musician and writer. He is best known for his twelve-year tenure as the bassist of the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. During his later years with the band, he released a solo album, Believe in Me (1993), and formed the short-lived supergroup Neurotic Outsiders.

“Believe in Me” is Duff McKagan’s first solo album, released on September 28, 1993. The track ‘Believe In Me’ was also released as a single. At its peak, the album reached #137 on the Billboard 200. The album is believed to have sold about 100,000 copies worldwide, and is featuring such notable guests as Duff’s former Guns N’ Roses bandmates Slash, Matt Sorum, Dizzy Reed and Gilby Clarke, Skid Row members Sebastian Bach, Rob Affuso and Dave Sabo, Lenny Kravitz and Jeff Beck. The song, ‘You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory’, from the Guns N’ Roses album, ‘The Spaghetti Incident?’, was recorded during the sessions for this album.
