Profile Della Street was arguably the best club band to ever come out of Albuquerque. They played across the country blowing away audiences wherever they played. Sharing the stage with many national acts from Cheap Trick and Kansas, to Mariah Carey in front of crowds as large as 35,000 people. They also recorded many original songs, ten of which went into their album Faces released in 1989 on Xclusive Records.

The band was formed in 1986 by ex-Old Scratch vocalist Marshall Nelson, ex-Sassy Jones/Windfall keyboardist Ron Logan, ex-One Of A Kind bassist Jeff Johnson, guitarist Mark Scheele and drummer Mark Simma. The drummer would split after only one jam session and was quickly replaced by ex-Steve O’Neill Band skinsman Donnie Frank.

Della Street toured regularly throughout the southern United States and opened shows for many big name acts including; Foghat, Kansas, Nazareth, Cheap Trick, The Beach Boys, Molly Hatchet, Pat Travers, Mariah Carey and Gary Richrath of R.E.O. Speedwagon fame. Their biggest show being an outdoor concert with Kansas in Dallas, Texas for a crowd of 35,000. The band continued to tour until October of 1994 when they decided it was time to call it day.

  2. I used to go to Friars Pub in Albuquerque with my girlfriend and two or three other couples to watch Marshall and Scratch play and man they were great.
1978 to about 1982. I remember them playing What us and what should never be.
Gosh those guys rocked and Marshall was the king.
