Profile Regent St. Claire and drummer Matthias Montgomery formed this San Francisco band in 1983 as Fox. A demo dubbed Ready, Willing And Able is issued before the band changes its moniker to Castle Blak. Their second album titled “Another Dark Carnival” came out in 1987 via Stiff Kitten Records and the track, ‘Don’t Tell Me ‘Bout Your Boyfriend’, appeared on the ‘Beach Balls’ movie soundtrack released by the Los Angeles label Phoenix Records. The album released also with a different cover features some sorta apparitional kabuki pirate. The song “Glory Hole” you can hear also in the sample is the best moment of the record, while there are a couple of covers: Kiss’s “Do You Love Me” and “Some Kinda Of Wonderful”, popularized by Grand Funk Railroad. A good addition in your collection if you are fan of this music style…
