Profile Bread & Circus hailed from Trondheim  formed in 1989 and was a continuation of Romance, which consisted of Hans Hopen (vocals), Espen Isachsen (guitar), Frank Aune (bass), Christian Nystrom (keyboards) and Lars Almaas (drums). Romance already had a record deal with Grappa and with Rolf Graf as producer they released the single “Angel / Tonight’s The Night”. In the aftermath of this release stopped Hans Hopen and Espen Isachsen and was replaced by Baard G. Olsen (guitar) and Frode Henriksen (vocals). Bread & Circus was then ready to take off.

In the period that followed they started wrote tunes, became successful singing in Norwegian. They wanted Ole I’Dole as a producer, and he took a trip to Trondheim (from Sweden) to helped them out. It was incidentally Ole who suggested them changing the name from Romance to Brod & Circus, under the motto: Give the people what they want! Their self-titled debut album came out in 1991 through Grappa Records while the band released two singles to promote it. “Vinger/Vill, Ung Og Fri (acoustic version)” and “En Og En Blir To/Engler”. An album full of melodies and catchy chorus that deffinetely worth a place in your collection.
