Style Hard Rock

The rock group Transit originated in 1982 from the eastern Swiss student group Hush and started production in 1985 within a week in the Powerplay Studios Maur Break away on their first album (1985). The video for the song “Break Away” was the first rock video of a Swiss group, founded in 1981 on the music television channel MTV. Due to the album and the video Transit could soon sign a contract with K-tel (Switzerland).

The second album Dirty Pleasures (1988) was produced by Kalle Trapp and published both in Europe and in Japan. It sold in Switzerland alone, 15,000 times. In addition, the transit was decoupled singles Take Your Love (1988, CH # 8) and You can not stop (1988, CH # 22), the first Swiss group, which could end up in the same year two hits in the charts. After that concert tours followed by Europe, including the group Smokie, Wishbone Ash, Mom Boys, Girl School, Nazareth and crocus. 1989 Fredy Koller (keyboards) joined the group. 1990 chose the British rock magazine Kerrang Transit selects the “Best Swiss Rock Band.” In 1991, the group was chosen in a TV broadcast of the ten best Swiss music groups.

The third album Heartcore (1991, CH # 21) was released in both Europe and Asia, and provided for the first single My Number Need a spectacular video that played in a brothel. At the same time the previous album Dirty pleasures will be published in the Asian region.

1993 Transit received a recording contract for a further six albums in Japan and offered in the same year went to Hamburg to the studio with producer Kalle Trapp record their fourth album. The album Catch Fire (1994) was published in ten countries, appeared on various record labels in Europe, but there is not a great success. In Japan, however, it reached a top 10 placement. In 2001, the group broke up officially. 2002 a DVD was released with ten music videos and additional rare material.

Folded in 1993 at the Transit guitarist and songwriter René Baiker 2002 founded the group Motorbaiks and published some years later the album Sold Your Soul (2007). The longtime guitarist and keyboardist Fredy Koller in 2003, founded the rock cover trio Trash Deluxe. Transit should not be confused with many other musical groups who called also transit or call.
