TH & THE WRECKAGE

Country USA

Style Melodic Rock/AOR/Pop

hrjhtjtTH & The Wreckage spent a good amount of the 1980’s and the early part of the 90’s playing every existing club & Music Hall throughout the Boston & New England areas. They managed to record 4 Albums, win 5 Boston Music Awards & create a fan base that still exists throughout the country.

Tom Hambridge formed TH&TW during his time off from touring with the likes of Cub Coda, Roy Buchanan & Chuck Berry. Over time, the band developed a tight sound & a dedicated following, and began performing more often as well as recording original songs. Eventually Bobby Stanton joined the band and cowrote some memorable tunes with Tom that received plenty of airplay on local New England radio. After several years of touring & recording independently, The Wreckage were looking to sign a major recording contract. Although the band did receive lots of interest from several labels, the deals being offered weren’t quite the best offers for the band. They soon realized they should continue to release their albums independently.

By 1994, TH & The Wreckage made some changes and simply became Tom Hambridge. There were also some personnel changes to the band around this time, but the main line up of TH & The Wreckage were Drummer/Lead singer Tom Hambridge, Bobby Stanton, Jim Scoppa & Tommy MacDonald.

rdgdhgrthtrBobby came into the band in 1984/1985, replacing Eric Wells on guitar. Tommy Mac came into the band in 1986, replacing Dave Broderick on bass. Jimmy Scoppa on guitar was always in the lineup more or less. Bobby eventually left in 1992, being replaced by Boston veteran guitarist Steven Paul Perry. When the band name transformed to Tom Hambridge, the guitar players to play with Tom & the band were some of Boston’s finest pickers, including Bob Enik, Elvis Lederer & Dave Brown. There was also the occassional additional drummer when Tom began to sing up front on some of the live shows. Those who sat on the TH drum throne include Boston vets John Sands, Brock Avery & John “Muzzy”.

Since the demise of TH & The Wreckage, the main band members are still involved with the music scene. Tom Hambridge still writes, records solo albums & tours with his band The Rattlesnakes, as well as produces albums for many other well-known artists. Jim Scoppa still plays in several local Boston Bands. Tommy Mac relocated to Nashville where he continues to tour & record, as well as work with Tom Hambridge (also a Nashville resident). And Bobby Stanton writes & records his own instrumental albums, tours & teaches the summer classes at Berklee, as well as in his home state of Minnesota. The guys are all still close friends and have even reunited several years ago for a show at The Roxy in Boston.
