PRIVATE LIFE

Country USA

Style AOR

ggtrPrivate Life was an AOR band formed in November of 1983, featuring former members of Rod Stewart, Axis, and Badfinger with singer Kelly Breznik. Private Life’s music was very slick, keyboard-based AOR similar to late-80’s Heart.

The singer Kelly Breznik that time was friends with the wife of Edward Van Halen and through this contact came Private Life to the good business contact Warner, Ted Templeman and of Course Van Halen.

Van Halen wound up co-producing Private Life’s debut album, ‘Shadows’ came out in 1988 with Donn Landee. The group signed to Warner Brothers and almost naturally were then taken out on tour by Van Halen. The album features 9 ready-for-radio songs followed by a very serene (and unexpected) cover of Amazing Grace.

1990 Private Life released their second album, under the title “Private Life”, contain 9-tracks in the same musical levels, but a bit rougher and rockier as the debut album were offered, including a nice cover of Van Morrison’s “Domino.”

The band now had a new drummer, Chris Frazer (including Steve Vai, Whitesnake) while in production we meet Edward Van Halen and Ted Templeman.Unfortunately Private Life never really caught on. This ended up being the band’s final release. In 1992 guitarist Danny Johnson along with singer Desi Rexx (D’Molls) and drummer Andy Parker (UFO) work together in Rexx and Johnson.
