Legion are a Melodic Hard Rock band who are at the heavier end of the scale but still hugely melodic, they may put you in mind of some of the harder Hair Metal bands from back in the day like most noticeably Dokken but they will also appeal to fans of the likes of Pretty Maids and the more edged melodic bands. The principal songwriters are Wolverhampton based guitarist Vince O’Regan (Bob Catley / Eden / Pulse) and American vocalist Phil Vincent (Solo / D’ercole). Joining them to fill the band are Dianno rhythm section Gavin Cooper (Lionsheart) on bass and Steve Hopgood (Jagged Edge) on drums. Their debut album is a delight for fans of bands like Whitesnake or Dokken. Phoenix Radio’s Chris Nelson describes it as “a sensational album”.

Barely five months after the well received self-titled debut, LEGION have returned with a follow up that, incredibly, does not seem to have suffered at all from the relatively short gestation period. A slab of bombastic hard rock album with massive harmonies. The album has already been highly praised by many magazines and sites. A strong album from start to finish and even eclipses their well crafted debut. If Hard Rock/metal anthems are your thing you’ll love it.

In 2012 the band are back again with Nemesis, they’re best effort to date and the band are taking no prisoners. Already confirmed for Z Rock 2012 and with other festival appearances awaiting confirmation 2012 looks set to be the year Legion break through. “Nemesis” may not be as immediate as the debut but is a lot fresher and adventurous than the follow up. It’s dark and aggressive with plenty of old school metal guitar riffs, many times putting me in mind British classic bands. October 2012 see’s Resurrection the bands forth Album head your way. Its stronger than ever and with the bands sights now set on mainland Europe after conquering their homeland its time to lock up your daughters.

In 2013 LEGION return with a new album titled “V”  and clearly states this band is here to stay. From the blistering opener “Gotta Pay the Price” to the heavy crunch of “Who Can You Trust” to the Dokken meets Winger “House of Cards”, this CD rocks from begining to end. Vocalist Phil Vincent spent countless hours recording a massive 22 vocal tracks for each song and axe wizard Vince O’Regan has proven once again he is a force to be reckoned with.

2014 found the band with a brand new album titled “Tempest” their sixth in the last four years! Musically “Tempest” is somehow a return to the sound of the two fisrt albums from the band: bouncing Hard ‘n Heavy / Melodic Hard Rock with beefed up riffs and edgy melodies. The band sounds better than ever (now with ex- Persian Risk Steve Hopgood returning on drums) delivering well structured songs and melodies that keep on playing in your mind.

Legion continues with the batch of one-album-per-year, as bands used to do twenty years ago. And the best part of it is that the quality of the material on offer seems to not decrease. 2015 found the band with their 7th CD “Animal Inside”. The digital version of the album will be entitled ‘Animal Within’, to not be confused with the title track already released as advance one month ago through iTunes, Amazon digital, etc. “Animal Inside” is much more melodic than the last Legion albums.
