Profile West Coast rockers Big Franklin release this album back in 1999 from Quasi Music. Ignore the odd cover on this one, these guys are a polished band that plays AOR tracks full of lush hooks everywhere. The band features Tommy Gunn, who used to sing with the 80s metal band “VVSI.” Also featured in Donny Sarian, who used to be in the group, “Mach 1.” Frank Gambale also adds the guitar work on this on. The harmonies on this record are layered, and the guitar solos are simply stunning. “Mama Said,” is a Hair Metal lovers dream, with vocals similar to any 80s sunset strip band. The tracks, “Can’t Have You,” will keep an AOR lover thrilled, while “Just Another Saturday Night,” is a passionate male and female duet. Every song is infectious. This is a certainly underrated album, production-wise and talent-wise. Big Franklin combines the rock and country styles to perfection and adds their own flare to each song. Definitely a band to check out, especially if you’re a classic rock or country rock fan.
