Profile Finnish band Beat founded in 1979 by brothers Kim and Janne Engblom, among with Tina Pettersson and Tina Krause in their school years. The band debuted in 1982 with the album “A Hope For Peace” with a sound similar to Abba.  In summer 1981 the band released their first single “I’m Tried” / “Every Day” partly on its own. That same autumn Beat ranked second in the autumn, Vocal Music Festival with the song “Children of the future”. Their second album came years later, in 1990 released by Go Up Records, while they represented their country in Eurovision Song Contest 1990 with the song “Fri?” The new album has obvious better production, with tones oof synths and many harmony backing vocals. They toured in Sweden, the Soviet Union, Turkey and Hungary, while they participated in the 1991 Moscow international song contest, which ranked third. The band split-up in 1992.
