Profile Anita coming from Schiedam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. At age 18 Anita became a member of the extremely popular Dutch girls group,  “Dolly Dots”, from 1979 until 1985, when she left the band due to her pregnancy. In 1986, however, she released a solo album, “The Girl in Black” with the help of Dolly Dots’ writers Peter van Asten and Richard DuBois, of which two singles were taken: ” You’ve Got Me Keyed Up”, followed by “Into The Night”.

Then she met an American producer Eliot Wolff and recorded ” Don’t Treat Me Like This”, which was a medium success in the US. She also recorded a demo for Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”, which was never released. The song was passed on to Paula and it became her major international break thru.

Since 1986 Anita has been the voice of the Dutch Donald Duck and has starred in a comedy series by Harrie Vermegen and Henk Spaan. She has currently said goodbye the stage and is living in Northern Holland with her husband Ton Blanker and their daughter Robin.
