Profile Addiction was formed in the San Francisco, CA Bay Area in the early 1980’s. After a few initial personnel changes, the band’s core members (Dave, Geno, Kip and Joe) toured the West Coast & Canada and worked their way up the club circuit to headline marquee venues and arenas. They were the opening act for ’80s recording artists such as The Greg Kihn Band, The Tubes, Quiet Riot and The Outfield. In 1984 they were the unannounced opening act for Huey Lewis and the News at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, CA for a Walk America Walkathon Benefit Concert.

The sold-out crowd loved Addiction’s 45 minute opening set and the band received a roaring, standing ovation – as well as big props from The Jefferson Starship, whose members were backstage at the time watching the show. Addiction recorded this 7 song album in the summer of 1982 with assistance from legendary record producer Gary Lyons (Aerosmith, Foreigner, Grand Funk Railroad). The album was eventually released on their own private label, Independent Records, and debuted during their record release party at the San Francisco Showplace Square Gallaria on July 27th, 1985. The band toured for another year, then eventually parted ways in 1986.

We must keep it in perspective that this is an independent release, and as such, doesn’t have the same full sounds of a major release.
