Profile 4Him was a Contemporary Christian group founded in 1990 in Alabama, USA. The group has a Grammy nomination, ten Dove awards and three certified gold albums to their credit. The group was inducted into Alabama’s Music Hall of Fame, following the awarding of The Governor’s Achievement Award. The group has also been featured performers for popular Christian Evangelist crusaders, Billy Graham and Louis Palau. “The Basics of Life” is the third studio album of the group released on Benson Records.

Although this is not one of 4 Him’s best albums the guys puts out such incredible music that even when one of their CDs is not up to par with their other CDs, its not a problem. There are three tunes on here which break free of the pack. The title tune is a pretty good manifesto calling for an increased moral and spiritual renewal in America. “Through His Eyes” is a call for racial unity and the return to God of every man and woman on Earth. “When it’s Time to Go” speaks of the time that a child “leaves the nest” of home and neatly dovetails it into Jesus’ departure from the home of Mary and Joseph to dying for our salvation and in the end awaiting a reunion with them in Heaven.

Mark Harris has a tremendous gift in his ability to write songs that continuously move people to feel “spirit led.” “The Basics of Life”, was RIAA-certified as gold and, again, the Christian Research Report poll voted the quartet Best Group. The group also received Impact Awards from the Christian Bookseller Association for Cassette Jacket Design and Total Promotional Campaign for “The Basics of Life’.
