Profile 3rd Stage Alert was formed in 1982 by Al Morris and Giulio Lomma, two guitar players looking for a band that was a bit different from all the bands in LA at the time. They recruted Dave Drury for vocals who had recently migrated to LA from Philadelphia where he was the singer for World War III. They went through various drummers and bass player until they settled their line-up prior to recording their EP. Joining the original three were Mark Edwards formely with Steeler and Ron Murray on bass who was with A&M’s Burning Rome.

Production on the record was handled by the lengedary guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen who also played on the last song “Adagio”. Yngwie is a big fan of the band and asked to produce their record. This is his first production work and it proves to be a job well done. The band had the flare and charisma of finer European bands like Rainbow and Michael Schenker Group offered strong commercial songs with a rough edge. Like many bands of that period they debuting on Metal Massacre II compilation released in 1982 before the release of their EP.
